- You first back out the old screw that has corroded over time.
This rusty screw was has rusted from the elements**. - Now, re-drill the hole with this specially designed drill bit.
As you can see, the bit drills out a slightly larger hole in the frame to allow for the nylon sleeve to be inserted. - The nylon sleeve's size is engineered to fit perfectly to reduce the chance of over tightening.
- Next, you simply screw in the matching BLUE-TAP masonry anchor.
- Finally, you give the nylon cap a good push.
And, you’re all done!
An exceptionally clean finish that prevents corrosion from the elements and electrolysis.

**Typical screws begin to rust almost immediately
and lose considerable strength and holding power. After a few years, weather,
pool water and chemicals, rain and exposure to salt seriously compromise
the strength and integrity of your fasteners. Corroded screws loosen and
allow water and corrosive minerals to enter the aluminum, causing it to
deteriorate from the inside.
Stainless steel screws are softer and may cause
electrolysis or aluminum deterioration caused by different metals or different
alloys of aluminum touching.
Both types of screws are susceptible to over
torque which can create a gully in the aluminum where water will collect.
